The festive season often comes with big expectations - perfect decorations, joyful gatherings, and endless energy. But the truth is, your festive season doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. And that’s okay. 💛
It’s Okay to Do Things Your Way
For some people, the holidays are full of noise, lights, and social events. For others, that can feel overwhelming. You might prefer quiet moments, simple traditions, or even skipping certain activities altogether. There’s no “right” way to celebrate. What matters most is what feels comfortable and safe for you.
Give Yourself Permission to Rest
The holidays can be tiring - physically, emotionally, and mentally. If you need a break, take it. Rest isn’t selfish; it’s essential. Whether that means saying “no” to an event, taking time for a walk, or enjoying a favourite hobby, listen to what your body and mind need.
Focus on What Brings You Joy
Instead of trying to do everything, choose the things that make you feel happy and calm. That could be:
Watching a favourite film
Spending time with a pet
Connecting with one or two people you trust
Enjoying a quiet cup of tea
Small moments matter. They can make the season feel special without adding stress.
You Are Enough
If your festive season looks different from others, that doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong. You are enough - just as you are. The most important thing is looking after yourself and finding peace in your own way.
Remember: Kindness starts with you. 💜
