Spotlight On FASD Hub Scotland

At NEST, we know that families impacted by neurodivergence often need a range of support services. That’s why our Service Spotlight series highlights local organisations that make a real difference across Ayrshire and beyond.

This month, we’re shining the spotlight on FASD Hub Scotland – a service dedicated to supporting parents and carers raising children and young people with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) or those with suspected prenatal alcohol exposure.

What They Do ✨

FASD Hub Scotland provides a wide range of free support for families and professionals, including:

  • Information & Support Line – open Tuesday to Friday on 0300 666 0006, offering advice, guidance, and a listening ear.

  • Family Support Service – tailored, one-to-one support for families who need more focused help. Find out more here.

  • Training & Workshops – a variety of online sessions for parents, carers, and professionals. These are free to those living or working in Scotland. Explore upcoming events here.

  • Closed Facebook Community – a private, positive, and well-moderated online space for parents and carers to connect and support each other.

  • Free Resources – Their website is full of useful tools, including fact sheets, an A–Z of FASD, the FASD Toolkit, and webinar recordings.

Importantly, a diagnosis isn’t required for families to access support. As long as there is confirmed or suspected prenatal alcohol exposure, families can reach out for help.

Why We Love Their Work 💙

Parenting a child with FASD can bring unique joys and challenges. FASD Hub Scotland provides a lifeline for adoptive, biological, kinship, and foster families by offering practical guidance and compassionate understanding.

Their commitment to creating safe, informed spaces – whether through their support line, training, or online community – means families don’t have to face this journey alone. At NEST, we recognise the vital importance of this kind of support, and we are proud to highlight the outstanding work of FASD Hub Scotland.
