It’s a question we get asked a lot — and the answer is simple:
No, you do not need a formal diagnosis to access NEST.
At NEST (Neurodevelopmental Empowerment Strategy Team), our aim is to provide information and advice to anyone who is navigating neurodiversity — whether you have a diagnosis, are waiting for one, or are just beginning to explore whether you or someone you care about might be neurodivergent.
Who Can Get in Touch?
We’re here for:
Individuals who think they might be neurodivergent
Parents, carers, and family members
Teachers, support workers, and professionals
Anyone who wants to learn more
Whether you’re seeking advice, information, reassurance, or resources — you’re welcome at NEST.
Why Don’t I Need a Diagnosis?
We understand that getting a formal diagnosis can be a long, emotional, and sometimes overwhelming process. That shouldn’t be a barrier to receiving support or starting your journey.
Neurodivergence shows up in many different ways — and your experience is valid, whether or not it has a label. If you’re struggling, curious, or just not sure where to turn, we’re here to listen and help.
What Kind of Support Can I Access?
When you reach out to NEST, we can:
Offer guidance and information tailored to your needs
Help you understand different neurodevelopmental conditions
Talk through challenges or concerns you're facing
Signpost you to helpful resources, workshops, and services
Simply be a listening ear if you need one
You Are Welcome Here
At NEST, we believe in accessible, compassionate support for all neurodivergent individuals and the people around them — not just those with a diagnosis.
If you’re unsure whether to reach out, please know this:
💙 You don’t need a diagnosis to be heard.
💙 You don’t need a diagnosis to be supported.
💙 You don’t need a diagnosis to belong.
