Supporting understanding, connection and confidence
Understanding autism can be an important and empowering step for families. When you have the right information and support, it becomes easier to recognise your child’s strengths, understand their needs, and build positive, trusting relationships.
That’s why NEST is hosting an Introduction to Autism workshop, designed especially for families of autistic children and young people, or those exploring whether autism might be part of their child’s neurodevelopmental profile.
💚 What This Workshop Offers
This friendly, in‑person session provides a clear and compassionate introduction to autism. Individuals will be supported to explore what autism can look like in children and young people, with space for questions, reflection and shared understanding.
The workshop focuses on recognising differences without judgement, valuing neurodiversity, and building confidence in supporting your child in everyday life.
🎯 Workshop Aims
Participants will:
Develop a shared understanding of what autism is
Learn about common differences in communication, social interaction, sensory processing and play
Explore how autism can present differently in each child and young person
Gain practical ideas to support wellbeing, connection and daily routines at home
Be signposted to trusted supports and helpful resources
