🗣️ Making A&E More Communication Friendly – Info Sessions for Families, Parents & Carers

We’re excited to share a fantastic initiative from South Ayrshire Communication Friendly Environments 💙

Two upcoming drop-in sessions will give families, parents, and carers the chance to learn more about the new Communication Friendly approach being introduced at Ayr Hospital’s A&E department.

This approach aims to make visits to A&E less overwhelming and more supportive for neurodivergent individuals and anyone who experiences communication differences.

From quieter spaces to visual supports and staff awareness, the goal is to create a more inclusive experience for everyone.

These sessions are a great opportunity to:

✅ Find out what changes are being made

✅ Ask questions and share your thoughts

✅ Understand how this approach can support your family’s needs

📍 Where: Ayr Hospital, Education Rooms

🗓️ When:

🔹 Wednesday 11 June | 6:30–8:30pm

🔹 Thursday 19 June | 10:00am–12:00pm

No booking required – just drop in!

⚠️ Please note: NEST is not involved in organising this event, but we’re happy to help spread the word about inclusive efforts in our local community.

For more information, visit South Ayrshire Communication Friendly Environments on Facebook.

Let’s keep making spaces safer, calmer, and more accessible for everyone. 💬✨
