Hi, I’m Clare! 👋
I’m proud to be the South Ayrshire Project Co‑Ordinator for the Neurodevelopmental Empowerment Strategy team (NEST).
My role is all about supporting communities to become more inclusive and helping to create spaces where neurodivergent people and their families feel seen, heard, valued and respected.
I joined NEST in December 2023, bringing with me over 20 years of experience in the third sector, along with a strong passion for autism awareness and inclusion.
Why Inclusion Matters to Me 🙂
A big part of my work is shaped by learning from others, listening carefully, and valuing lived experience.
I believe in celebrating individuality, recognising personal strengths and contributing to conversations that help create more accepting and inclusive communities.
For me, inclusion means ensuring people feel understood and respected, and that their voices genuinely matter.
What Makes Me Shine 🌟
✅ A caring and respectful approach
✅ A calm and grounding presence
✅ A strong belief in the importance of understanding neurodiversity
Whether I’m supporting families, leading community conversations, or advocating for inclusive practice, I aim to bring empathy, insight and warmth to everything I do.
What People Say About Me 💬
People often describe me as caring, grounding and respectful.
They value my thoughtful approach and the way I create calm, welcoming spaces where people feel comfortable being themselves.
I’m known for listening, reflecting, and always looking for ways to support meaningful and positive change.
A Few Fun Facts About Me 🦒
I’m definitely a night owl - early mornings aren’t really my thing 🌙
When it comes to food, I’m all about macaroni cheese, especially with a good coffee by my side ☕
I prefer savoury over sweet and appreciate an organised desk
Spring is my favourite season - I love the sense of growth and fresh starts 🌷
And my favourite animal? Giraffes, without a doubt. I admire their calm nature and gentle strength 🦒
Thanks for taking the time to learn a little about me 🧡
